I am over the moon because I have been awarded a Junior Group Leader fellow from Fundación La Caixa! Thanks to this, I just joined the Institute of Marine Sciences (ICM-CSIC) in Barcelona, Spain.
I will continue investigating how marine sponges interact with their microbes and with their environment in order to identify ancient genes involved in fundamental animal functions. The knowledge gained from sponges can help us to better understand animal health and disease.
